State carnival 2022
We had 2 teams play in 2022 State Carnival. Sue Staples, Phyllis Betterridge, Margaret Hickman and Kim Trethewy have been to this carnival before, but this time down to the Shoalhaven area. We played at Ulladulla, Nowra and Greenwell Point. We won 3 out of 6 and had some close losses. Pam Andrews, Narelle O’Dwyer, Margaret Lind and Denise Wickman played in their first State Carnival at Sussex Inlet, Nowra and Culburra. They came close in some of their games and felt happy about their bowls. All different greens, some extremely fast!! Carol Russell played with her sister in a composite team. Everyone learned a lot about coping with very different greens and opponents but all agreed it was very enjoyable. We can recommend the meals at Shoalhaven Heads Bowling Club if you happen to be on the South Coast which is looking spectacular - so green.
Congratulations to Bateau Bay who had a team who reached the semi finals , and another team skipped by Julie Cox ( played with our club a little while ago), who won their section and the first game of the Final series.
